FAQ for Altered Transmission

What is Altered Transmission?
Altered Transmission is a free single player mod for Half-Life 2: Episode Two. Adding new maps with a new storyline, set in another city expanding the Half-Life 2 universe, adding new art assets.

Does City 12 actually exist?
Yes. Every outdoor map is a recreation of real places made from photos, internet searches and satalite photos. The real city is in Denmark and is called Århus and is the second largest city in Denmark.

Will this mod feature voice acting?
Of course. In order to tell the story, voice acting is mandatory! The story isn't told in the demos, but the story does most certainly exist. If you want to know more, perhaps try poking around the fragments section?

When is Altered Transmission ready, is it already released?
The full version is not yet released and is years away. While in development, every third month all ready gameplay is released to the public as a demo with an incrementing number.

Who do you mean by Demo?
Beta. It's not really demos, just betas. My faulthy selection of words!

How is Altered Transmission distributed?
Starting with the upcoming Demo 7, a content source control system will stream down the game content to the installer, like Steam and updating the game content if outdated.

Why doesn't this mod promote itself?
Imagine doing interviews, trailers, useless weapon renders, forums, banning and moderating the idiots on your forums. This is pointless for mods that still is in development. Also if everyone plays the current buggy WIP versions, who'd play the final version?
