That's right! You are no longer allowed to use Maxsi Distribution for evil purposes, unless you purchase a license to use Maxsi Distribution for evil from Maxsi Software. We have very affordable prices for the common evil genius (we also offer student discounts).
Thanks to Google Code we finally have a working SVN Reposity with 1000 MB free storage. We have uploaded the newest source code, SDK files, beta server files, and possibly also working binaries to get you started. Mind this is a beta release and it is not future compatible and almost every feature is disabled at the moment. Don't worry, we'll get achievements running smoothly soon.
But what if you don't know how to use the easy-to-use source code? Don't worry, thanks to MediaWiki, we've set up our brand new developer wiki with plenty of documentation, or at least enough to get you started. As Maxsi Distribution grows, so will the documentation. For now, all our interfaces are self-documenting, so any experienced C++ developer will have no trouble working with it.
And if you are still confused, we've got a new shiney mailing list for people using Maxsi Distribution in their products! Thanks Google Groups we can offer an advanced mailing list for help and requests. We hope people will start using this feature to make development easier!
Oh! And if you would like to show your support for Maxsi Distribution, or get in touch with like-minded, thanks to the Steam Community, we have set up an official group. So if you're using Maxsi Distribution in your products, be sure to join!
In conclusion, Maxsi Distribution offers everything for everyone, from the common modder to the twisted evil mind wanting world domination.

Maxsi Distribution is an Open Source Content Distribution Platform. We believe that we can can improve digital distribution by creating a free content distribution platform for use by anyone. We don't believe in waiting in lines when downloading, we don't believe in advertising, we don't believe in paid subscriptions. Instead, we believe in openness, creativity, and user-friendliness.
Maxsi Software, what happens to currently be a one-man programming team, is seeking experienced Software Engineers to participate in the development of Maxsi Distribution. We are currently interested in those with:
- At least 2-3 years of Native C++ experience writing native applications for Windows, especially if you have experience with:
- Advanced Win32 programming, including creating functioning UI systems from scratch using native Windows Functions.
- Real-time Asynchronous Winsock-based Networking/Streaming and Parsing.
- Experience working with Open Source projects would be appreciated, but is not required.
- Designing and implementing real-time high-performance flexible networking protocols and algorithms.
- Experience programming with the Source SDK is a plus, but not needed.
- Working with Visual Studio 2005 (or later, other compilers are not supported).
- And/or 2-3 years of experience writing PHP-powered high-performance web applications.
- Experience working with MySQL 5.0 or later is required.
- A solid understanding of networking protocols is required.
- Experience setting up a local Apache Development server would be greatly appreciated, but is not required.
- Experience working with Open Source projects would be appreciated, but is not required.
If you don't meet the above criteria, but still feel that you can help with the project, feel free to contact us and tell us what you think you can help us do. Maxsi Distribution is a open project, for the community, by the community, we have no secrets and anyone wishing to participate in the development are welcome to do so.
If you would like to participate, please email and tell us your previous experiences, what you can do, your URL, work samples, and all the other stuff you usually put in resumes.
If you are interested in hosting for Maxsi Distribution, we are not currently in need, but do send us an email and we will get back to you when we need your services. We most certainly will.
If you simply wish to use Maxsi Distribution, feel free to mail us as well and we will get back to you when it goes live. Modding teams participating in the development of Maxsi Distribution will have early access to it.
Thank you for your interest in Maxsi Distribution.

Yesterday, we fully implemented Maxsi Distribution 4.0 in City17: Episode One. Our download systems, master server systems, content server systems, and release tools are now so developed that Maxsi Distribution based mods are now able to automatically update. We successfully made a beta version of City17: Episode One, downloaded it via Maxsi Distribution, released an update and noticed how it updated automatically.
This means we are very close to a public release, however, we are suffering from some bugs in the download systems that can make the download halt on most computers. We are close to a release, so have patience.

The past few days, we have worked hard on Maxsi Distribution Version 4.0 and are proud to announce that the Maxsi Distribution Interface now works. Source Mods using the Maxsi Distribution SDK will now automatically update themselves when launched. This is a huge step towards the release of Maxsi Distribution 4.0. The only features missing right now are an optimized method to detect updates, implementation of the MaxsiDistribution:// protocol scheme, completion of the MaxsiRelease.exe tool, statistics, achievements, and other small features.
That said, we hope Maxsi Distribution 4.0 will be ready for a semi-public release in a few weeks. So far, we have had great success letting City 17: Episode One implement our Pre-Release SDK (apart from Swine Flu infections). We designed Maxsi Distribution to be as user-friendly as possible, so mod teams will have an easy time implementing the upcoming Maxsi Distribution SDK.
We have also launched a small, but constantly evolving, Developer Wiki for Maxsi Distribution. Using this, we hope to fully document Maxsi Distribution while also providing tutorials for the many things possible using the Maxsi Distribution SDK.
