Altered Transmission is still in development. Each third month all playable content is released for beta testing, these are called demos. Each demo is completely standalone and does not require any previous versions installed.

The newer demos (Demo 7 and newer) are small installers that download the game content On-The-Fly enabling some kind of automatic update technology, as well as a central for registering how many users have installed it.
